Sustainability at Komar Distribution Services

At Komar Distribution Services, sustainability is a core focus. It’s not just a box to check. Sustainable practices are embedded into how we think and operate at every step, aiming to reduce environmental impact, improve efficiency, and raise the bar for the industry as a whole.

As a Komar company, we’re part of an ambitious commitment: to become one of the most sustainable companies in the industry by 2030. To get there, Komar has established clear, measurable benchmarks aligned with global environmental reporting standards and tracks and shares progress annually.

Across our global operations and partner network, including Star and Star Solutions, sustainability efforts are well underway. Star’s operations now boast 4.9 MW of solar capacity, cutting emissions and moving us closer to our goal of sourcing 80% of electricity from renewable sources by 2030.

At Komar, we operate eight LEED-certified facilities, including the first Passive House in Southeast Asia. These initiatives support our broader targets of using renewable electricity across all owned sites and achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

Our Savannah facility is powered in part by 3 MW of solar energy, and our McAlester, OK location also leverages solar power to reduce emissions and energy use.

“Moving products efficiently from point A to point B requires a lot of energy, and at Komar Distribution Services, we’re committed to doing it responsibly.”

Tyler Harris, President, Komar Distribution Services

Beyond energy, we’re reimagining everyday operations to minimize waste, including reusing packaging materials, optimizing shipping methods, and streamlining workflows.

These efforts make our logistics smarter, greener, and more sustainable, for our employees, our clients, and the communities we serve. Learn more and see our progress toward a more sustainable future in our
