Komar and Star expand in Togo, strengthening global supply chain solutions

At Komar Distribution Services, we’re proud to highlight the latest expansion of our parent company, Komar, and our manufacturing arm, Star, with the opening of a state-of-the-art facility in Togo, West Africa.

The new site, located in Africa’s cotton belt, will produce and export millions of garments annually while creating 2,000 direct jobs and 4,000 total new opportunities, 70% of which are intended for women.

This expansion enhances our ability to offer integrated, end-to-end solutions for leading brands. By combining the Togo facility’s production capabilities with Komar Distribution Services’ operational expertise in the U.S., including our Ellabell, Georgia distribution center, we streamline garment and home goods production, import logistics, and fulfillment for global markets.

Through partnerships with Georgia’s Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ), we’re further enhancing cost efficiency by streamlining customs processes, deferring duties, and optimizing inventory management.

The Port of Savannah, a cornerstone of our U.S. operations, continues to expand as a critical logistics hub, reporting 13.5% growth in container volumes for 2024. With infrastructure such as the Mason Mega Rail and proximity to major interstates, freight from Savannah reaches 60% of the U.S. population within two days—connecting African-produced garments to American consumers efficiently and reliably.
